This book on Complementary Nursing is certainly one of its kind. Well written and clear, its over 400 pages abound with knowledge and detailed instructions. Written as a nursing textbook, it covers how to deliver massage, bath , aromatherapy in massage oils etc. in nursing, and particularly in hospice care and for the dying. What is most astounding is the wealth of information contained in this book. Aside from precise instructions on the use of essential oils, including preparation and dosing, Knapp-Hayes details care for respiration, pain, mobility, fever, brain-tumor related epilepsy, heart and circulation, care for mouth and digestion as well as the uro-genital are, measures to harmonize emotions, fatigue and sleep. She also covers questions of palliative sedation, and spirituality in the context of dying, as well as mourning. For anyone who has ever worked in nursing, this book is an incredible treasure box of wonderful practical ideas of alternative care, put to the test for a long time in The Netherlands. This is a great book, very well written

This is a great book, very well written, based on experience and research. It caught my attention since I started reading it, I can't stop reading! It has been very helpful in real life. If you are a Health Professional but you are not an Aromatherapist, you will benefit greatly from this book since the author provides a great base in order for you to build knowledge from. And if you are an Aromatherapist, like me, you will be thrilled with the Real Cases the author mentioned and you will be able to apply immediately what you read. I am truly thankful for the translation of this book in the English language. A must read!

An AMAZINGLY comprehensive introduction...

This recently translated book ships from the author, in the Netherlands. Designated a handbook for nurses and health professionals I think it has much to offer the serious aromatherapy student, especially any one dealing with end of life issues for a loved one. Madeleine has filled the book with research citations, but, more important, with examples of patients and treatments from her years of experience. She and her patients come alive in the pages.

This book an absolute must-have for every aromatherapy educator, every professional who deals with patients of families in end-of-life situations, and every individual hoping to help the caregivers of a senior loved one or hospice patient. The book is an inspiration! It truly covers so much more than "end of life" care, with formulas for safe dilution, lists of safe and unsafe oils for children of different ages. The author gives the best introduction to the use of various CO2 extracts than I have seen anywhere. It is becoming one of my 'go to' references.

The book costs to much, uses archaic wording that will make you fall asleep. I had to Redo my formula calculations 3 times before I realized that MOST OF THE FORMULAS ARE WRONG IN THE BOOK! How can you publish a book about financial cost etc and the formulas are wrong!.

This has led to Muslims being the source of a deep-seated anxiety for secular nationalism and the targets of a resurgent Hindutva in that they expose the fault-lines of a geographically and socio-culturally unified nation.
