"The first book I ever wrote I tied with yarn, illustrated with crayon, and sold to my parents for a buck. I was about five years old. Ever since, stories of love and redemption have always struck a cord in me." She's an actress and director, too, and currently lives in Atlanta, GA, where she loves the unpredictable weather patterns after living in Los Angeles for twenty years. "Last night a thunder storm, today 75 degrees, tomorrow snowflakes drifting in the night sky. Can't beat it."

Hated It

Well, it was different. Spoilers ahead ...
The storyline is that the heroine cheated, all the way as in had sex with another man, and then on a weekend away together informed the hero. He naturally is bitter and spends the next two years sexing every woman with a pulse, hating every woman with a pulse, and despising the heroine. Two years later she calls him, they see each other by happenstance, then meet up again by happenstance. She's just broken up with her fiance and so the way is clear for them to get back together. Surprise, they still love each other. Her starting up with her now ex-fiance while she and the hero were living together is now explained off as she was feeling unloved and that the hero was not committed to her. Therefore her affair was justifiable. Oh, and since his wolf never wanted to claim the heroine back then, the hero just can't argue that it was true he didn't want her enough ... or something like that.
Whatever.
Now I am a HUGE advocate against books where the hero treats the heroine like SH*T, but this time the shoe was on the other feet. Not at all a surprise, I'm against it when the heroine treats the hero badly. At no time would I want a couple to get back together when they've been unfaithful. Because this is fantasy world, not real world. I literally know of no long term relationship where one of the duo hasn't been unfaithful or seriously thought of doing so - and I know a lot of people. Not one. Of course they forgive and forget, or pretend to do so. The point is, I want my fictional romance to be romantic, happily ever after, and monogamous. Reading about the heroine cheating and the hero thinking approximately 'well my wolf refused to claim her so I can't blame her for cheating' just was not for me.
Now, for those reading this review. If this storyline doesn't bother you, get to reading. Faleena Hopkins has written a lovely series with these werewolves and I will definitely read other work by her. For those who don't like cheating stories, here's the ending: the start of a new series is introduced, our hero sneakily gets the heroine pregnant, they manage to get married right before she has the baby with the same Clerk of Courts who married the other New York packmates, and everyone is happy and healthy. The End.

I grew to love you!

Dontae how at first at the beginning of Werewolves of New York" Nathaniel I felt nothing for you, then little by little I came to understand you a little bit through out that book and now here comes your own book and ... I grew to love you!! ^.^
From the beginning of Nathaniel's book I really didn't have much connection with Dantae. He was so reserved and rather mean, more into the cruel side. His banter about how woman couldn't be trusted - like to his own pack-mates - did get rather annoying. But for the most part I really didn't feel anything for the guy. I guess that was the whole point tho, no. But as that specific book went on I started to feel something for Dantae. As I kept reading the other books Eli and Darik I really started to open up to Dantae, even started to like him by the end of Dariks book.
Now we go onto his book. This Dantae werewolf is HELLA mean and rather cruel but ... I love him!! ^.^ He is actually quite funny if you didn't know. And he DOES have a big heart, very kind deep, deep, deep down!! And Dantae is rather funny as well, granted into the mean sort of funny, but funny non the less and I LOVE it!!
The reason Dantae started out rather cold and mean in book one Nathaniel was because he was betrayed by his then girlfriend Catherine. Which through out the first 3 books and part of Dantaes book we as readers grew to hate her as well. So part of me was a little disappointing in seeing that the author planned on putting Dantae and Catherine back together again. 'Cause as mentioned i grew to hate her for hurting Dantae.
In this story tho we get to know Catherine and quite honestly she turned out to be one of my favorite female leads from this book series aside from Talia.
Catherine is actually not exactly how Dantae - and the rest of his pack-mates - saw her. She's actually strong willed and a spitfire herself. She stand her own and she's rather funny as well.
We get to understand the reasons for her actions while still she shouldn't have done it of course, I can still understand it.
So at the end I enjoyed Dantae and Catherine getting back together and I do believe now that they made a wonderful couple!!
This is another quite and easy read, very entertaining. It's mostly all about Dantae and Catherine. But really kept me entertained and connected to them and I ended up loving them as characters and as a couple!!
Must read definitely!! ^.^ The author new what she was doing from the start and she connected all of the books in such a nice way and she succeed and bringing me as a reader to love two characters that at first I wasn't really connected to - Dantae - and the other I really hated - Catherine - like the rest of the wolves. Good read, good way of writing it and I enjoy every bit!

THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN!!!!

Oh how the mighty will fall!! I never would have thought Dontae would finally get this point, but as they say, the wolf always knows and there's just no fighting it. Dontae watched his three friends fall and knew it would never happen to him, but of karma can find you and bite down hard. For years after he lost lost Catherine, he was very hard and didn't trust women at all. Catherine had hurt him deeply but he didn't see what happened as being any of his fault, til now. Catherine is due to be married in two months and she can't stop thinking about Dontae, the one she let get away, but she always felt like he was holding back and not telling her something important and she did the worst thing she could, cheated, told him and then left and never called or looked back. So she try's to call Dontae to talk to him and he just pretends she has the wrong number and get's lost in the memories of what that once had. He calls Darik to meet him for a drink, while he is standing there in front of the bar waiting, he catches her scent and can't believe that she is there and he get's really angry. They have words, Darik shows up the go into the bar and Catherine catches a cab and gets lost in her own memories. The next day Dontae decides he needs to go back to his real home and let his wolf out to work out the frustration & hurt feelings he has over Catherine. In the same manner Catherine is headed to Maine to get away and try to figure things out for her self and as always the roads seems to collide and their paths cross over & over again, that they actually have time to talk out what really happened and Of course Dontae's wolf having a mind of his own, show's Catherine what he has been hiding. Then their story truly begins again and they start anew.
Their is more but I will not ruin the highlight of this story, you are just gonna have to pick up a copy, it's free with KU.
